Although it is imperative to determine your proper eyeglass or contact lens prescription, it is equally important to evaluate your entire visual system. We have one of the most technologically advanced offices in Virginia which allows us to uniquely evaluate your ocular health while providing unique solutions for your eye care needs. When properly studied, the eye can reveal a surprising number of systemic health disorders such as diabetes, arthritis, cerebrovascular disease, neurological disease, and cancer. You can feel good knowing in a world of volume and bargain eye care, we still put quality, comprehensive service above all else.
We are proud to offer our patients the unique EIDON Retinal Exam. EIDON is the first system to combine the advantages of SLO with the fidelity of true color imaging, setting new performance standards in retinal imaging. EIDON provides unsurpassed image quality, a unique, live, confocal view of the retina, three different imaging modalities, all integrated in a versatile system that provides new opportunities in retinal diagnostic.
The Wilcox Eye Center includes a computerized visual field analysis in your comprehensive examination. We feel this is a necessary component of an exam since it can reveal vision loss due to glaucoma, strokes, and tumors and other neurological disorders.
Wavefront Corneal Molding is a unique non-surgical process clinically developed to reshape the cornea and correct nearsightedness with and without astigmatism. We create a therapeutic contact lens to gently reshape the cornea while you sleep. The result is crisp vision without contact lenses during you daily activities.
The Wilcox Eye Center is engaged in evaluations for refractive surgery correction procedures such as PRK, LASIK, LASEK, Intacs and clear lens exchange. If we determine that you are a good candidate for refractive surgery correction, we will provide you with an objective recommendation of which procedure best suits your needs. We will explain everything from preparing for the procedure to how you can expect to feel afterwards. At Wilcox Eye Center, we take pride in our complete pre and post surgical care. Be sure to ask us how you can schedule a no obligation consultation.
